Sustainable Fashion Week 2021

Posted on September 16 2021

We are in the midst of Sustainable Fashion Week (SFW) which started on the 11th September. It’s the first of its kind, and its founders (@ameliatwine, @givewearlove and a small team of amazing Bristolians) have organised a week of wonderful and creative activities celebrating actions that are changing the fashion industry in our fight to combat climate change. This week is all about exploring issues and offering ways to inform and upskill people and the industry in favour of greener, cleaner and fairer fashion.

These community led initiatives aim to inspire the building of a sustainable relationship with fashion. Their mini events and online workshops personify grass root actions and are based on their 4 main themes - #regenerate #reconnect #repurpose #rewear. Events range from a ‘Reuse Fashion Show’ in Paris to the ‘The big clothes swap’ online and a vintage pop up shop in Bristol. Panel discussions and masterclasses are also scattered throughout the week! Truly committed to the slogan "stitch it, don't don't ditch it", they have organised a number of opportunities on high streets up and down the country to learn how to mend clothing and keep them alive.

To top this, SFW aims to raise funds for charity and grassroots organisations working in the industry! Please do go and have a look at what this week has to offer and give support where you can! We @seisorelleswimear would love to be involved as this initiative continues to grow - So keep your eyes peeled!
